Just kind of spoon feed them the information they need and leave them to it. Go through the motions and then stick as many as possible on GNVQ’s so it doesnt damage the schools GCSE pass rate.
I taught at a variety of schools selective, secondary, special needs different areas.

Not sure exactly how many lessons I have observed or taught to be honest.

There are so many laws and regulations now, that teachers can not do much.
If the school districts fire teachers, it’s going to be hard finding replacements due to the decreased amount of persons entering the field.

Its not the teachers faults, its the education department. Teachers have to do pretty much exactly as they are told, there is no room for individual teaching styles anymore. They can’t even plan a lesson without interference from one department or another.

So let me get this straight – they wouldn’t let strangers check on their children but they WOULD leave three children completely unattended?!?!? Defies logic.

As for it “Costing too much” they are both doctors fergawdsake – not exactly minimum wage earners! They could obviously afford to go to dinner.
I don’t hate them and I feel very sorry for them , I just don’t get why they would leave their kids unattended, especially if there was a baby sitting service available. It seems really irresponsible.
Something is very wrong here. I could have understood if, being on holiday they wanted to go out for a meal but they were away from family and friends, had no babysitter and maybe consequently made a wrong decision on the spur of the moment, but there WAS a perfectly suitable babysitting service available and they could well afford it so why did they not use it?! They could have left their kids in safety and they chose not to. This makes no sense at all. Very worrying.

Yes, there was a baby-listening service. And apparently they weren’t happy leaving strangers to listen out for their kids (although they left them in the kids creche during the day allegedly)

If it were me I would charge 7 dollars an hour and for activities maybe board games.

I’d charge around £2 an hour. That way, you make £10 and the parents don’t think it’s too expensive. Also, you could keep him entertained with Disney movies, board games, maybe bring a laptop round for him to play games on and things. Colouring books and crayons never go wrong though!

if theres a newspaper or local shop near you could put an add in the window?
or you could ask your mum/dad/aunty/uncle/grandparent if they know anyone with a young child in need of babysitting like someone they know from work or something?
or if your looking for ways to make money you could do the same thing but for walking dogs if the babysitting thing fails ?

I’m lucky: I don’t have any baby-relatives or friends with baby sisters or whatever!! Otherwise I’d be constantly babysitting cos I’m the teenie of the family… But I’m sure you’ll be okay tonight. :)

The right answer is when YOU have had enough.

If you get tired of doing it just stop watching other kids BUT, if they are your kids then it is your responsibility to raise them until they are old enough to take care of themselves.

Remember, you are the one in control. If the other kids are becoming too much – just put a stop to it. Don’t let yourself become the place to drop off the kids (or a dumping ground).

get with some of your friends that have babysitters and ask them what they pay for the service . Sometimes a teenager of your freinds can watch the little ones too if yo pay them apropiately, Here in the US tehy pay about 10$ an hour or up to 200$ a week
