Answer by Clare
I’ve had good luck removing crayon marks from walls with flat paint using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser slightly dampened. Test it first in an inconspicuous spot, of course.

Good luck!

Answer by hvmorfun
try baby wipes, especially ones like Huggies Pure. I’ve found that they’re great for cleaning just about anything.

Answer by MondoBlondo
Use that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It is amazing.

Answer by Answerer
i love bleach. i clean everything with it, the smell is a little strong but you get an amazing clean with minimum scrubbing. and everything comes up to white. i also use a steel wool scourer as well. saves a lot of time scrubbing

I’ve tried a foam cleaner that I was fobbed off with when I bought the shoes but it’s useless!

Answer by Choclover
I always put mine in a pillowcase and then in the washing machine – I do this with trainers usually and they come out really clean

Answer by luna
yep, the pillowcase and then in the washing machine works. When you dry them stuff them with newspaper and leave them in the airing cupboard until they are totally dry.

Answer by dimpelmum
I can suggest this, I wash my fabric shoes, and our trainer´s this way . They come up nice and clean. You need to buy some good old fashioned soap bar soap. You know the kind for washing clothes, people used this many years ago with the old scrubbing board. You can find this in your local hardware store& some super markets sell it. So soak your shoes in cold water , rub the soap on. leaving the soap on and your shoes free from water. for 1/2 hr. this lets the soap do it´s work. Then back to cold water, as you are washing fabric , use a toothbrush , give a rub then rinse well. Then hang them out in the sun to dry , The sun will bleach out any remaining stains the natural way. Also another little trick that works very well to get your shoes dry quick is . Fill the bottom of the shoes with normal rice, then put as many clean clothes or rags that will fit. leave in a warm place over night & your shoes will be dry the next day. Try for yourself

The dust etc seems to collect in the button areas and is difficult to remove – currently just vac it out, but think over a long period of time this will scratch / damage the leather in this area.
What is best method for cleaning the leather generally?
I have used a damp cloth, but don’t want to keep doing it with that as I may dry it out too much. It feels like it needs moisture, are the proprietry creams etc any good?

Answer by Gem*
When I bought my leather couch from DFS I also purchased a leather cleaning set too. I have to use it about twice a year. Its just a solution I mix with water and then wipe over the couch. If you go into DFS you should be able to buy one. Don’t know how much it was as it was included in total price.

Answer by focus
You can buy a special leather cleaning kit from shops that sell leather furniture. Or try a car accessory shop like halfords, they sell leather cleaning products for leather upholstery in cars.

Answer by thelev51
Focus is correct and the best product I have found is AUTOGLYM they produce a leather cleaner and a conditioner for use on leather car upholstery but it can obviously be used on household furniture. it isnt that expensive about £4 each but you dont need a lot and you needent use the conditioner every time you clean. It works very well

It just seems that no sooner have I finished, then it’s all dusty again! And what about getting those windows streak-free on the inside and out? Who has a system that works?

Thanx in advance!

Answer by dollybird
if will make love to the person who gives me the formula for streak free glass, no product on the market works !!!.

Answer by ruthie
For the windows clean them when it is not so humid I know it sound crazy but I saw this on tv one time the less humidity in the air the less the streak. If you use paper towel to do windows make sure it does not have lotion in it. When I do mirrors in the bathroom I keep the lights off less humidity less streaks. also make sure you are keeping you filters changed on you furnace it will help with the dust. I have to dust almost every week for I have my windows open all the time and it does get dusting more often.

Windex I use on windows but if your windows pretty dirty I will use vinegar diluted with water.

Answer by surfbird
Tell me about it….
I find spending 10 minutes a day better than an hour each week. Always use a wet duster as it collects more. Put a small amount of baby oil on too as it stops dust clinging later.
Always vacuum then dust as the dust will just kick up again.
I also find that silver coloured items such as TVS and stereos show less dust that black ones.
As does light coloured furniture rather than dark.

As for the windows the answer is to dry as soon as you clean. Then cover with nets or blinds so no one sees if any streaks remain..lol
