hey, I am hosting a tiny party on halloween and i don’t no what games to play. Please leave some sugggestions on some fun games to play for 10-13 year olds. Thank You.

Apple bobbing or kiss chase

split them into groups, give them a roll of toilet roll each and see who can decorate a member of the group as the best mummy. Tie doughnuts to bits of string hanging down, tie their hands behind their back and see if they can eat the doughnuts. Put things into covered bowls e.g. spaghetti, jelly and they have to feel it and see if they can guess what it is.

My daughter is having a Halloween themed birthday party. She wants to invite all of the girls. That’s exactly 20 13 year olds including her. What games do you think they should play besides truth or dare, charades, spin the bottle, hide and go seek and bingo. I also want them to be Halloween-ish.

you could also play…
–the mummy game (teams wrap one girl in toilet paper and the first team to completely cover their mummy wins)
–the “1-2-3-look up” game (omg this is sooooooo fun! everyone stands in a circle and looks down at another person’s shoes/feet. then someone says “1,2,3, look up” and you look up at the face of the person whose shoes you were looking at. if two people make eye contact (aka they looked at each other’s shoes), they have to scream and fall (or pretend they’re being murdered, if it’s for Halloween)

The games that you have planned, unless they were requested by your daughter, don’t sound very age appropriate, nor fun for thirteen year olds.

Instead play games like Mummy Wrap, where you break off in to teams and each team has to wrap one person with toilet paper, and the fastest team wins.

Bobbing-Up for apples. You tie an apple for each person to a string, then tie the string up high to something like the cieling, a banister etc. Make sure the apple is just at eye level for each person. Then on the count of three everyone tries to catch and take a bite of their apple, that fastest without cheating wins.

Spider Web Tangle. Basically it’s just twister.

A pumpkin carving or painting contest.

Halloween Improv. Make them think on their toes by putting them in a situation and seeing what jokes they can tell. Sort of like who’s line is it anyway or drew carry’s improvaganza.

A costume contest.

Ghost stories. See who can tell the scariest.

And Horror Movies.

Or you could do the whole murder mystery night kind of thing and see if they can figure out who murdered the victim.

How can I make a rubber latex halloween mask shiney?

I got my halloween costume in the mail today. It’s a Frank the bunny costume from the film Donnie Darko. It looks awesome but the mask is really dull and a matt grey whereas in the film it looks really shiney. Is there any household or easy to obtain things I could use to make the rubber more shiney? I’m thinking things like hairspray, glue etc?

Hairspray is a good thought.
If you have any shellac (and most traditional hairsprays are shellac) that should do nicely.
Unbleached will give a more natural tone.

ask the school their go to and see if there have a catlogue chances are there do and there have great templates for xmas and stuff (i work in a nursery)

its mostly gd stuff and its cheaper!!!

Templates are easy to make and cost nothing.Just get a stiff piece of cardboard and draw on it or stick a picture on it and cut it out you then have your template. Its good to make your own and it encourages the children to be creative.

I want to throw a teenage halloween party at my house. There will be around 10 14/15 year olds. I have not got much money so i cant go out completely decorating the house up with cobwebs. I have 3 ideas:
Dressing up
Apple Bobbing
Hide and Seek in the dark

But i cant think of any other games we could play?

any ideas?

You don’t really need games, just get everyone to dress up, have some music and food, and everyone will just entertain themselves

Psychologists say that scary stories are good for young children because it helps them to differenciate between real and imiginary.

It is good to follow these guidelines though:

Choosing a scary story for young children

Look for stories where the characters are simply presented, either as all good or all bad.
Try to find stories where good triumphs over evil.
Stories where the youngest or smallest character turns out to be the hero are great for young children. That way, she/he will identify with the hero, and feel more powerful herself and a bit braver when it comes to facing the things that frighten him or her

What is a good certificate 15 horror film to watch at a halloween movie night?

I’m having a halloween movie night on Saturday with some friends and we want a certificate 15 film to watch which will fit the feel of halloween, so it must be scary. It must be a 15; not a 12- that’s not scary enough, and not an 18- that’s too scary and we’re not old enough anyway. We prefer scary ones like spooky/give you a shock rather than violent/gory. Made within the last 10 years, we don’t want an old film.

My grandmother & mother used to make a pudding at Halloween, similar to Christmas pudding but a little drier and a bit more cake like. Does anyone out there have any recipes for something similar that may have been handed down?
