will may 6th 2010 be a holiday for public offices like the home office ?

i have an appointment at the home office on the 6th of may and i would like to know if the election date is set to be on that date would the office still function as normal?

I’d expect it to be open, election day isn’t a public holiday, it’s a normal working day which is why the polling stations are open from very early in the morning until quite late in the evening so that people can vote before or after work.

Is all information I previously provided to the Home Office stored on their systems.
If I already disclosed convictions in previous applications will they be able to find it this time (overseas convictions).

What will the Home Office do now that I’ve reported her assult?

Six months ago I was assulted by a woman that use to live in the same house as me. I was not cut but her and her mother spat on me and I caught this on CCTV.

The police gave her a warning for what she did.

However, the woman who assulted me is Nigerian and is applying for her leave to stay in Britian. If I report her to the home office will it make a difference?

No as she does not have a criminal record, and of course it would be against her ‘uman rights to be deported.

If they just gave her a warning then it won’t show up on a criminal records check. The Home Office is not going to anything if all she got was a warning – that is not enough to prevent her from getting leave to remain

The best way to save electricity is by NOT attaching things to the power outlet.

Most things (except electric fires) are designed to run pretty efficently.

ive been living in the uk since 2000 on a student visa.in 2004,i send my passport for a visa extension.i got a reply from the home office saying that they havent made a decision yet and that i should hear from them in 13 weeks.i havent heard from them since.my lawyer have send a couple of letters on my behalf but still nothing.i think they have lost it.i cant get any work or study without my passport.any suggestion welcome.

Not that you shouldn’t get compensation…but where do you think the compensation comes from…a big pot of money..no British tax payers…me, and others like me……If you work now then fair enough you have contributed…if you are still a student after 7 years, what the hell are you studying???? Can’t you travel home and get another and come back…thats what I would do if I was in Spain and lost a passport….Things like this can cause resentment…don’t you see that?

The first Home Office pathologist to examine Ian Tomlinson’s body decided he died of a heart attack. Did that pathologist not notice the internal bleeding cited as the cause of death by the 2nd pathologist to examine Mr. Tomlinson’s body? Should we have faith in the verdicts of causes of death decided by Home Office pathologists?

Why would a pathologist employed by an ambulance chasing lawyer who had been hired by a money grabbing chav family decide that it wasn’t a heart attack?

Death could have been caused by heart failure and internal bleeding.

The fact that a second pathologist examined Mr Tomlinson is if anything a sign that the investigation has been impartial.

Mr Tomlinson was a heavy drinker and both pathologists commented that his liver and heart were both diseased and this is important as it is unusual to find such a degree of scarring on the internal organs of a relatively young man. In this respect Mr Tomlinson could have suffered internal bleeding and heart failure.

“Being a heavy drinker makes someone more frail, more like an old man.”

His blood vessels may have been swollen and enlarged due to his drinking and blood is less able to clot in people who drink heavily and so they bleed more profusely.

Further investigations and tests will seek to establish the exact nature and cause of his internal bleeding, and there needs to be a full examination of the facts before anyone jumps to misguided conclusions.

As for Home Office forensic pathologists they are medical professionals first and foremost and come to conclusions based on scientific facts in the same way any other forensic scientist would.

I finished my 10 years in uk as student visa and applied for indefinite leave to remain. I was refused from home office but i appeal and won. After 4 months home office applied reconsideration in high court but i won second appeal again. Now 5 month has been passed but i’ve not received any news from home office. I don’t know what i do?

Ring them & find out what’s happening.

If you had a solicitor help you with your appeals, contact them & find out if they’ve received your papers.

If the Home Office can’t answer you when you ring or get back to you with what you need to do, lodge a complaint with the Home Office and/or speak to your MP.
