What do you mean ? Talk talk is an isp, you provide your own security.Anti virus, anti spyware, firewall, and secure your wireless network

Well according to Talk Talk’s site they don’t do their own security so you will have to get your own if your going with them.

You get 30 days of free online protection, but in my opinion Talktalk are the worst internet providers.All you have is problems with them

Have been trying to play Empire total war but i cant host or join any games.I have changed nothing on my pc on Virgin media Security which i installed last week.I have not been able to play since.

it’s obvious that this ” security” is blocking the sites you want to play
Try tp use their settings to allw those sites as friendly, or find another security

The cheapest is free.Some free security programs have been known to out perform paid programs.This is my set up:
1.the firewall : PC Tools Firewall Plus
2. the anti-virus: Avast Home Edition 4.8
3. for anti-spyware: A-squared free,Ad-Aware,Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

All these were available free through CNET at http://www.download.com

Anyone had problem install norton 360 after having bt yahoo online internet security?

Tried to install 360 result incomplete install.took bt off same result.tried to put bt back on and it now wont in stall,Running XP SP3.Have put the 360 on laptop and running great but that did not have the bt internet security!!!!!!!!.Help as I need some security.The 360 is one for 3 PC’s

You did use the norton removal tool didnt you? Not just from add remove programs? Norton leaves behind alot of things when you uninstall it so you have to use their tool now.

probably theres still anti-virus in your pc that did not remove completely. what anti-virus did u have before when you bought your pc. Is it safe to change wi-fi security from WPA-PKS to WEP to go online on pokemon diamond?

I really want to go online to trade pokemon as i need only a few legendaries to finish the game, however the DS is only compatible with WEP security, when we have WPA. Would it be safe if I temporarily change the security to WEP and change it back after i’m done using, or is it really that easy to hack that I should just leave it?

yes, it’s safe.
Neither are safe to a dedicated hacker, it’s not going to matter if someone really wanted access (which is unlikely)..

Of course it’s safe, I mean it’s not that bad! thousands of people are still using WEP encryption! even when it’s not the best encryption but it’s still not that easy to be cracked.
You can use it temporally but not forever

Ive never heard of Rogers Online Protection, But microsoft security essentials is a good free package. I use it with Comodo Firewall and Malwarebytes Antimalware and my system seems fine.

Just need to use common sense aswell,i stay away from torrent sites as these are a major cause of pc headaches with hidden files ready and waiting to infect your pc once you have downloaded something from them.

You need to get rid of the Rodgers protection,the one you need is Microsoft essentials.Having two antiviruses running will slow your compter.

Never heard of Rogers. I have microsoft security essentials and i find it great, detects 98% of malware.

Anyone else having trouble downloading yahoo online security from BT Broadband?

Since installing the BT Home Hub and going ‘wireless’ we are now unable to download the AntiVirus and Firewall (which should be part of our package). Despite several communications with BT Help and Technical Support and assurances that the server department(!) have fixed the problem we are still getting the error message – Norton Licence Error 300.
I’m being told the problem is with the licence from Norton which is not being downloaded so we cannot accept the terms and conditions of use. I just keep being told BT have solved the problem. When I tell them they have NOT they just say they will keep working to resolve my problem! The same lady has been calling me EVERY DAY to tell me this!

We’ve had the same problem and it took 4 weeks of persistence before Technical support finally phoned us and we got it sorted (actually without their help, in the end). Still not got Firewall. Downloading it crashes our computer.
Good luck! Be persistent.

I had this the other day. I ignored it and carried on working. I restarted my computer during my session and the problem was resolved. So, don’t worry too much and it should resolve soon. It should not affect your protection. However, just keep an eye on it.

Absolutely!
Having just reated myself to a new laptop I thought that rather than use the AV trial that came with it, I’d install the BT stuff which sounds great.
The intention being that I would also load it anto all the other pc’s in the housewhen they come up for renewals, ‘cos according to the bumpf, it can be loaded on up to ten systems. Thought I’d eventually get my money’s worth out of BT.
After hours and hours of repairing what it did to my laptop I’ve now resorted to McAfee 2007.
And that’s after always having bought Norton previously, without any problems.
Really put me off it. Not happy.
Shame.

I’ve got it on my laptop and desktop,and as far as im aware it does not run out out (as long as you are still with BT)
