Following the death of my wife(Dec07) I have recently started a new relationship, but all my friends are female, ex work etc. who still like to keep in touch. How can I convince the new person in my life that they are just being good friends?

Answer by Pretty In Punk
well if the girl is secure there shouldnt be any trust issues especially if there have been no signs that these are more than just female friends.
the best way to get her to feel included is to introduce her to the important females in your life. more than likely they will become friends and itll work out for the best.

Answer by Charlene R
Very simple, you love her for herself and that no one could replace her for the person you love. Let her see what your friends are like and try to get her to be friends with them. If they write you honest notes show them to her and let her know she is all the women you need.
That their friendship is replaceable but she isn’t..

hi, i want to be able to have laugh and build good rapport with my male colleagues, bosses etc.

can you advice how to go about it? I am 31 year old, and attractive women. I am divorced now. I have often felt that men start getting more attracted than needed if I start communicating more . Not worried about all but the good looking and attached ones. I don’t want to give people wrong impression but still be able to express my respect and affection to my colleagues.

can it be achieved?

Answer by Carla Vermelha
Ahhh i know exactly where your coming from, had this issue myself on many an occasion.
What i find works is to think of them all as my brothers (minus the punch-ups), i know this sounds unusual, but it really works. I don’t know how but people often seem to sense how it is that you feel or think about them. If you are flirting, guys know and although they might play along they won’t respect you. If you are afraid of them, they will pick this up, then your at risk of being bullied or trampled on.
It all comes down to mutual respect.
All the best

Answer by Lady .
Well I guess it depends on how the conversations start and where they lead to. If you are speaking to a male colleague and you talk about general things to start with, then you’re on safe ground. when it gets a bit complicated is guaging their joke range which can be tricky in a work environment. For example if you’re speaking to a male colleague who then goes down the innuendo route if you proceed in the same way then this may be misconstrued, so unless you have established that you’re single and not looking for anything from them (if they’re in a relationship and they mention their other halves then ask how they are every now and then, that way they know you’re not interested) AND you feel you’re a little more than colleagues then this would be fine. But generally especially with bosses it’s all about just sticking to well, safe topics if you like, and not getting overly friendly in terms of touchy feely with them, and things to that effect. You can still commnicate with any male colleague as long as there’s no flirting going on, not even harmless ones, unless they’ve gone from colleague to friend and they know where you’re coming from etc.

I hope that helped, somehow, good luck.

Answer by Stephen F
slow but then it got fast

Answer by Herb M
Waiting too long you will lose the Momentum, go at a steady pace, not slow or fast, but make sure it stay that way otherwise one party will lose interest and find another partner.

Answer by Sun ?Shine?
Well we were friends for 3 years before we started speaking in a more, serious, intimate way. I guess it kind of went fast after that in certain aspects (spending time together, saying I love you, etc…) but in other aspects we took more time (took 9 months to sleep together after we officially started dating).

I was just wondering if relationships between black females and dutch men are accepted and we plan on having kids, would they be accepted there?

Answer by DaySaver
I think most people would agree that the Dutch are about the most broad-minded people on the planet. Don’t worry about it.

Answer by Vince has left the building…
you and your kids will be accepted, no problem, no worries… Just never ever tell anyone you liked George W, in case you did…

Answer by Orla C
Of course they are. Why wouldn’t they be?

You would need to learn Dutch, but don’t worry, there are plenty of Dutch for foreigner classes around.

Not as in a man is married to several wives, or one woman married to several husbands.
But just as a relationship Boyfriend/Girlfriend. Are there any laws which state that several women and men can not be in a romantic relationship together? All of them dating each other with no “set partners”. If you had any information on this, especially laws in the Uk, then please let me know, if you just post abuse i will ignore it.

Answer by choko_canyon
There are no laws in any Democratic countries limiting the number of romantic relationships any consenting adult can have, simultaneously or otherwise. Such a law would be considered ridiculous, impossible to enforce, and purely fascistic.

Answer by Dass
As far as I know, there are none.

Just wondering because I don’t speak with mine by choice. He’s a complete alcoholic and I just dont like being around him.

Answer by Anna
Sometimes they say that a girl without a strong father figure may go for an older man as a partner to replace the father she did not have or that as her father never gave her an indication of how she ought to be treated by men that she will let men treat her badly.

These are just theories though and not a fact for all women in this situation.

Answer by Haley Harlequin
Same here =]
yea, my aunt once saiid that id never get married cause i wont trust men, which is a complete lie cause i have no problems. I think she just said it to piss me off =P, its based on the idea that every man you see, you should see part of your dad in him, so if you hate your dad, you hate men, but it doesnt work like that so dont worry =D
