Easter is a joyous time for all souls. It celebrates the coming of spring and the resurrection of the Christ. Easter is more about fun and laughter and a celebration of life itself. The date of Easter Sunday changes every year. The first Sunday after the first ecclesiastical full moon is usually taken as the date for Easter Sunday. The ecclesiastical full moon generally occurs on or after 21st March each year, which is also celebrated as the day of ecclesiastical vernal equinox.

Easter Sunday Celebrations
The Easter holiday is a very popular holiday, which has been partially secularized, all over North America. Quite a lot of American families participate in the Easter celebrations by decorating Easter eggs and engaging themselves in Easter games. Usually the whole of Easter Sunday is spent playing various Easter games. Hunting for the Easter eggs is a very popular Easter game which is played on Easter Sunday. By Easter Saturday evening the Easter eggs are mysteriously hidden all over the house and the garden. This part is usually done by the elders of the family. The children are told that at night the Easter bunny hides the Easter egg and other goodies in an Easter basket which the children have to find out when they wake up in the morning. But why the Easter bunny does so, nobody knows! On a typical Easter Sunday, Americans visit the church in the morning for attending the Sunday Mass or Sunday church services. Then in the afternoon they go for an Easter feast or party.

Easter Sunday at the Church
On Easter Sunday, additional services may be offered in the church. Though they follow the same pattern as in other Sunday services, they also merge some festive flavor into the services. The music of the church service on Easter Sunday plays on a festive note. The usual musical instruments used in a congregation are often supplemented with brass instruments such as trumpets. Special banners and beautiful flowers like Easter lilies are used to decorate the church premises.
