is there a counselor at your school ?
When I was in high school I regularly talked with the school counselor. She wasn't really capable of handling what was going on with me but there was a "3rd level" counselor that she sent me too. A man who was a licensed therapist came to the school once a week to work with kids with real issues. I didn't have to tell my parents or anything like that. So you could talk with your school guidance counselor and see if their is anything available like that at your school.

You can call a crisis line. In the US, you can call 1-800-273-TALK or 1-800-SUICIDE.
They can help you locate resources where you can get help.
Also, you can talk to a counselor at your school, if your school has that kind of service.
I know my counselor referred me to some free counseling that I was able to get through a local agency. I was a teenager myself at the time.
If neither of those options work, try calling a local helpline (look in your phone book) and ask around. You could try calling the nearest YWCA. They do low-cost counseling for people, and even if they can't help you, they might be able to direct you to others who can. A lot of social service organizations have directories of organizations that can provide various kinds of assistance to you depending on what your needs are. It's often just a matter of talking to the right person in order to find the right resources for you.
Don't give up hope!
I'm sorry to hear that your mom didn't take it so well. I just want you to know that it is not your fault that she is yelling at you. It's important to realize that.
It's nice to talk to friends about your problems, but I would only suggest that if you know that you can trust the person. You don't typically learn enough in a high school psychology class to be able to do therapy though. But if you feel comfortable talking to the person and you trust the person, then it's ok. It can't hurt to talk about it to someone you trust, but they may not always give you the best advice. Keep that in mind.
Hang in there!

You don't have to be suicidal to look at them, of course.
