Is it a paid subscription? If it is Norton – which is horrible and causes more problems then it is worth, go to below link and it we uninstall Norton Anti Virus Products in their entirety. I have used it on numerous computers with success.
I also used ccleaner when I am done (link 2), to clean up my registry to rid the left over junk. You may need to run it multiple times to clean it completely (click registry tab on right side)
After both steps are complete, close all programs and run a registry defrag program. This will speed things up for you in the log run (link 3).
