Where Do Visual Artists End Up After Graduating Art School And Not Becoming Nationally Famous?

This Question From Art and Artists | 1 Answer

THE POST:

Do they end up working at Wal-mart ? Are they trying to survive as free lance artists, setting up their own web-sites and posting on Deviant Art?
The artists who I’ve heard about are only famous (or locally known) by the grace of God and nothing more. They were just lucky. So what happens to the millions of others?

no once youve gotten into art school, you’ve gone pretty far with your career already. you dont even have to go to art school. i know plenty of self-taught artists that make a living doing this and never even gone to school. of course the general public has no idea who they are, but by the time u graduate, there is a good chance a lot of the artists already have had job offers as graphic designers or doing cd covers and such.
the millions of others, well lets face it we’re all not that lucky. but no a very small amount of them resort to wal-mart to pay the rent. they usually go off as freelance or start their own gallery.
