You aren’t supposed to throw your own baby shower anyway so it isn’t up to you.
I know you aren’t going to like that because it’s one of the “rules”.

That’s so dumb! My mother had a baby shower for her fourth baby . . . even though she didn’t ask for one and didn’t want one. lol
Nobody writes the rules. There are no rules. Have a baby shower if you want one, it doesn’t make you a terrible person or anything.

I think it’s because if your kids are close together in age, you should theoretically be able to use the same items (hand me downs, if you will). If someone wants to throw you a shower, by all means, go ahead! But asking for someone to do it for you is just tacky…no explanation necessary there.

I have never seen anyone have a second baby shower. The idea is that you already have all the major things that you will need from your first pregnancy…Maybe you could have a “meet the baby” shower, after the baby is born for people to be able to meet him/her…

That’s dumb of them to tell you that. I know women who have had 6 baby showers. Its not a rule and a lot of women don’t have them after their second child. I am pregnant with my third and I didn’t want one bc it would bring up bad memories for me. Their probably just being cheap and I’m sure some other person will throw u one.

I’ve heard of moms having a “baby sprinkle” for 2nd etc babies. The reason it’s uncouth to have multiple baby showers is because the point of a shower is to get gifts. It can seem greedy to expect people to buy gifts for each baby. With that being said, close family and friends will probably give you something anyway.
